Coronavirus in Oklahoma: Inaugural 'Rockin The Canyon' rescheduled to 2021

HINTON - Organizers of inaugural music and arts festival “Rockin The Canyon” are moving the event to 2021 to ensure the health and safety of participants and attendees from the coronavirus pandemic.

The three-day event, originally scheduled for Sept. 18-20 at Red Rock Canyon Adventure Park in Hinton, has been rescheduled to June 4-6, 2021, according to a news release.

“Our team is committed to supporting Oklahoma musicians and artists who have been impacted by the pandemic, however, our number one priority is the health and safety of everyone involved with the festival," said event organizer Mike McAuliffe in a statement. “The first annual ‘Rockin The Canyon’ will be even bigger and better next year as we all work together to put this pandemic behind us!’

The 310-acre Red Rock Canyon Adventure Park features a large festival area surrounded by red canyon walls, hiking trails, a camp store, swimming pool, restrooms, 50 RV sites and more than 60 campsites. As previously planned, the 2021 festival will feature about 20 bands, a comedy show and arts festival, according to the news release.

“We appreciate the support we have received from the the park’s management, local businesses, Town of Hinton and Caddo County,” said festival volunteer coordinator Jannetta Clark in a statement. “We invite Oklahomans to support the park September 18-20 by reserving RV sites, campsites, purchasing day passes and $49 annual park passes.”
