Kangana Ranaut meets Karni Sena functionaries after the BMC demolished her Mumbai office

After the BMC demolished Kangana Ranaut’s Mumbai office on September 9, the Karni Sena functionaries met the actress today at her residence. The outfit has pledged support by escorting her around the city.

After her war of words with Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut, the actress received support from Karni Sena when she landed in Mumbai. Kangana was reportedly threatened by Sanjay Raut after she compared Mumbai to Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Earlier, the Karni Sena members staged a protest in Gorakhpur against Sanjay Raut for his disparaging remarks against Kangana. The Sena members also burnt the effigy of Sanjay Raut at Shastri Chowk in Gorakhpur and demanded his apology. They said the kind of language the Shiv Sena leader has used for Kangana is an insult to all women.

After the BMC demolished her office, the actress received a lot of support from her fans, colleagues from the industry and BJP. Responding to the demolition, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis had said the Uddhav Thackeray-led Maharashtra government should focus on fighting coronavirus instead of Kangana Ranaut.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Raut has said that it was unfortunate that the BJP is backing Kangana despite the actress likening Mumbai to Pak-occupied Kashmir, and added this was done with an eye on Bihar polls. By supporting the actress and through its stand in the Sushant Singh Rajput case, the BJP wants to win Bihar polls with the upper caste Rajput and Kshatriya votes, he said. "While doing this, it doesn't matter if Maharashtra is insulted. Not one Maharashtra (BJP) leader was sad over the manner in which the state has been humiliated," Raut said.
