by Seamus McDonnellFriends and family have paid their own heartbreaking tributes to a young motorcyclist who died in a crash.
Alex Roby was riding his bike on Bryn Gates Lane, in Bamfurlong, Wigan, on Saturday when it collided with a metal barrier.
Emergency crews were called but, despite their best efforts, the 20-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
In the days that followed dozens of bouquets of flowers have been placed at the site of the crash, near Bryn Hall Cottages.
There are also balloons and a high-visibility vest which bear the young man's second name, as well as pictures of him and bottles of beer left by people he knew.
One tribute, written on a balloon, said: "Gone but never forgotten."
