After the note grabbed attention, Madras High Court judge SM Subramaniam has now written to Chief Justice Amreshwar Pratap Sahi to initiate contempt of court proceedings against the actor.
He said that Suriya's statement is not only undermining the "integrity and devotion of the honourable judges, as well as the judicial system of our great nation, are not but also "criticised in bad taste." However, fans and various celebs have supported Suriya for speaking his mind and heart about the issue.

That’s the kind of courage that’s almost non-existent nowadays. May your tribe increase!"
