Zamfara: APC members protest over arrest of leader

Following the arrest of Abu Dan-Tabawa in Zamfara, members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state have stormed the state police headquarters in Gusau, in protest of the arrest.
Specifically, they are protesting over the arrest of Dan-Tabawa, a political ally of the immediate past governor of the state, Abdulaziz Yari.
They are consequently demanding for the unconditional release of the arrested member.
According to Premium Times, quoting Zamfara state governor’s media aide, Zailani Baffa Dan-Tabawa was arrested for holding a secret meeting with armed bandits.
Holding placards with different inscriptions, the protesters accused the state police commissioner, Usman Nagogo, of partisanship.

They also decried what they described as frequent arrest of their members in the state.
Going futher, one of the protesters claim the state police commissioner is the campaign director of the ruling Peoples Democratic party in Zamfara.
“CP Nagogo is the PDP coordinator in Zamfara,” she wrote on her own placard.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported the crisis rocking the APC is far from being over especially at the Zamfara state chapter of the party as members of Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa’s faction have disowned him.
The party members while disassociating themselves from Marafa’s activities, described the senator as a deadly spoiler of Zamfara state.
The members led by the ward chairmen forum of Marafa’s faction, Alhaji Shafi Musa, made the disclosure while addressing newsmen in Gusau, the state capital.
Legit.ng had also reported that the crisis rocking the Zamfara chapter of the APC might soon be over if the political gladiators sheathe their swords and embrace peace.

The immediate past governor of the state, Abdulaziz Yari, said he is open to reconciliation with the aggrieved members of the party in the state.
APC lost all the elective positions in the state to the ruling PDP after the Supreme Court declared all the primary elections done by Yari's faction illegal.
