Apple Watch and Watch Pro set to debut alongside iPad Air 4 and iPad 8 at tomorrow's Apple Event
by Alex AldersonAt least four new products will be unveiled at tomorrow's Apple Event, according to Jon Prosser. The event, which Apple announced last week, will commence at 10:00 PDT (UTC-07:00) from Apple Park. Apple has not published any teasers for the event since its announcement last week, but the words 'Time Flies' were included in official invites, leading people to believe that new Apple Watches would be in attendance on September 15.
Prosser seems to think that this will be the case, too. Tweeting over the weekend, Prosser stated that Apple would unveil two Apple Watches and two new iPads. Apparently, the more expensive Apple Watch will be the Series 6, although Prosser believes that Apple may call this the Watch Pro. Prices for the Watch Series 6 or Watch Pro have not been revealed, but Prosser believes that Apple has a Watch SE ready to go, too. Similarly, this may well be marketed as simply 'Apple Watch' instead of the Watch SE.
According to Prosser, the cheaper Apple Watch will be available in two sizes and four variants. The smaller of the two has a 40 mm face, while the larger model will jump to 44 mm. Prosser claims that the 40 mm GPS model has been assigned the codename N140S, N140B for the 40 mm cellular model, N142S for the 44 mm GPS edition and N142B for the 44 mm cellular version. Finally, these cheaper Apple Watches will sport the design of the Watch Series 4 and will be based on Apple's M9 chip. None will support ECG or an always-on-display, though.
Prosser adds that Apple will also launch the fourth-generation iPad Air and an iPad 8 at tomorrow's event. The company certified seven iPad model numbers with the Eurasian Economic Committee (EEC) last month. All models will launch with iPadOS 14 and may feature a revised design, based on past leaks.
