Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police on Monday arrested two men and launched a hunt for another in the case of television actress Kondapalli Sravani's suicide.

According to the police, the three men were way too possessive about the 26-year-old actress and troubled her, thus pushing her to the extreme on September 8 at her residence at Madhuranagar area in Hyderabad.

M Sai Krishna Reddy and A Devaraj Reddy, the accused number 1 and 3 respectively were arrested and sent to judicial remand. Film producer Ashok Reddy has been named as accused number 2 and he is still at large.

Sravani, who came to Hyderabad eight years ago along with her family to act in television serials, developed friendship with Sai Krishna first. However, after three years, they had differences and separated in 2018. Ashok, who gave her an opportunity in his serial, developed intimacy with her. Later, they parted ways. Devaraj came in contact with her through Tik Tok in August 2019. Sai Krishna had grouse against Devaraj and often complained against him to Sravani's family.

Sai Krishna was able to influence the family as he was extending them financially.

She faced harassment at home too.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (West Zone) AR Srinivas said all the accused at some point of time had promised to marry her and were also harassing her citing her relationship with others. Ashok also created troubles for her by complaining to her parents about Devaraj.

Devaraj distanced himself from her after knowing about her relationship with Sai Krishna and Ashok. However, she tried to get closer to him.

In her last call to Devaraj, Sravani conveyed her frustration in life and her final decision. During the lengthy conversation, Sravani said she was taking the extreme step because of the harassment by Sai Krishna Reddy, Ashok Reddy and her family members.

The DCP said since Devaraj was also among those who made her life miserable and caused depression by distancing from her, he was booked. According to the police, Devaraj stepped back on his promise to marry her. Devaraj and Sravani had lodged complaints against each other at Panjagutta and Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar police stations respectively a few months ago.

Sravani's family is treated as victim in the case and hence, have been spared.
