Google Play Games Introduces Filters For Convenient User Experience

by

The Google Play Store for Android has been updated with a new filtering feature under the Games category. This was revealed by Boris Masis, a Google Project Manager who is currently in charge of developing games for Google’s operating system.

Moving on to the update, games that are currently included in the Play Store will now be filtered according to several categories. Among the filters include games that are categorised based on ads or no ads, in-app purchases or no in-app purchases, genre, star rating, among several others.

According to a Reddit post, it has been revealed that the feature is currently being called “Fireball” internally among the Google team themselves. Additionally, there is also a video demonstration link attached showing users how the feature actually works.

With the implementation of this new feature to the Play Store ecosystem, it is safe to say that most Android users will now be able to find convenience in terms of choosing the right games for download. For those who are not a fan of purchasing games, now this is a feature worth taking note of.

At the time of writing, the feature is said to have been widely rolled out to most regions around the world. However, based on our own testing, the Malaysian market still lacks this feature, at least for now. Still, it could just be a matter of time until Google decides to expand this feature to the Asian market soon.
