Watch: Liverpool & Leeds Serve Up One Of The Greatest First Halves In PL History

by

What a game! Liverpool and Leeds have served up on of the greatest opening periods in Premier League history this evening, with the two sides sharing five goals, including two absolute stunners.

It was a disastrous start for Leeds upon their Premier League return, giving away a somewhat controversial penalty inside the opening three minutes. Mohamed Salah made no mistake from the spot.

Leeds would grab their first Premier League goal in over 16 years next, one that was probably worth the wait.

It came from Jack Harrison, who produced a stunning first touch to manoeuvre the ball around Trent Alexander-Arnold and bury it in the bottom corner.

Liverpool retook the lead in the 20th minute, with Virgil van Dijk rising highest to nod home a Andrew Robertson corner.

However, the Dutchman would be at fault for Leeds' second.

His poor attempt at a clearance was intercepted by Patrick Bamford, who clipped the ball over an on-rushing Alisson.

Liverpool would retake the lead for a second time a few moments later, with Mohamed Salah grabbing his second of the contest with an absolutely stunning strike.

Certainly not a bad start to the Premier League season.
