Learn lake conservation

Different institutions in the city have come together to introduce an academic course for the public in order to create awareness on lake management and rejuvenation.

The certification course is scheduled to held between September 19 and October 19 this year.

It’s open to public and free.

The course is being offered by Bangalore University’s Water Institute in collaboration with Ashoka Trust for Research Ecology and Environment and Friends of Lakes.

The syllabus includes chapters on water cycle and catchment of the lake, hydrology and hydrogeology, measurement and survey tools, lake water quality fundamentals, fundamentals of ecology and environment, goals of rejuvenation, lake hydraulics fundamentals.

While the duration of the course is 20 hours, it’s available only on Saturdays (four hours). The last date to apply is September 17.
