A woman has appeared in court to deny murdering a man in Wythenshawe.

Leanne Bentley, 27, appeared at Manchester Crown Court on Monday afternoon via videolink.

She entered a not guilty plea to the single charge she faces alleging she murdered 51-year-old Peter Richardson.

Mr Richardson died as the result of a stab wound on May 21.

Ms Bentley, of Brookcroft Road in Wythensawe, was remanded in custody by Judge Patrick Field QC until the trial later this year.

The trial, scheduled to last five to seven days, was listed for November 23.
