Obadiah Mailafia, the former presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the 2019 presidential election has arrived at the headquarters of the Department of State Security (DSS) for another interrogation.

According to the Nation newspaper, Mailafia arrived at the DSS headquarters on Monday morning, September 14, around 11am.

Mailafia who has served as a deputy governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), told reporters at the premises of the DSS that he doesn’t know why he was being invited for another round of questioning.

"I don’t know why I have been invited again this is the 3rd time that they are inviting me to their office and I am honouring it," Mailafia stated.

He said he was ready to perish for speaking out about the killings of innocent Nigerians across the country.

Legit.ng recalls that Mailafia disclosed on Friday, September 11, that the DSS asked him to appear for the third interview on Monday.

Mailafia was previously questioned twice by the DSS after he alleged on a radio programme that a northern governor was a Boko Haram commander.

He had expressed concerns over the invitation, alleging that he was been victimised for speaking about the truth.

In other news, Obadiah Mailafia approached a high court in Plateau state for the enforcement of his fundamental rights to personal liberty and fair hearing.

Channels TV reported that while speaking during a press conference on Monday, August 24, in Jos, Mailafia’s legal team said the suit has been filed challenging the letter of invitation by the police.

Meanwhile, a group, Human Right Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has called on the Nigeria Police Force to desist from what it described as “unnecessary harassment of citizen Dr Obadiah Mailafia.

HURIWA wants the Inspector General of Police and other relevant security agencies to instead act on the information revealed by Mailafia during an interview he granted a radio station earlier this month.
