‘Patients not provided due care at MKCG’

by

The Bharatiya Bikash Parishad led by its State president Surendra Panigrahi in a letter to the Governor, the Chief Minister, the  H&FW Secretary, the RDC (Southern Division) and the Ganjam Collector has drawn their  attention to the inhuman treatment of MKCG Medical College and Hospital towards patients.

Panigrahi has sent a photograph showing how a serious patient is being administered oxygen by asking the patient to sleep on floor of the hospital casualty ward.

Such gross negligence and step-motherly attitude of the State Government in health care sector has exposed the Government, the Parishad said in a Press release. The State Government only constructs multistoried buildings for the MKCG one after another without adequate infrastructure such as  health care staff, doctors, hi-end medical equipment and apparatus and service, to befool the public, the Parishad pointed out.

Since MKCG is a premier referral hospital of the entire South Odisha, hundreds of serious patients from 4-5 neighboring districts including neighboring Andhra come every day to meet their health care needs.

Only serious patients are admitted in the Casualty with bed as these patients require immediate healthcare for survival.

But the Casualty is currently having little more than 20 beds which is inadequate for a premier referral hospital. Panigrahi demanded stern action against those officials responsible for such negligence as well as lapses.
