Woman's attacker chased off by witness in Chesterfield

Police would like to speak to the man who pursued the assailant

Officers investigating an alleged assault in Chesterfield are appealing for a witness to the incident to come forward.

The incident is believed to have occurred at around midnight on Thursday, August 13, in The Shambles, in Chesterfield, at around 10pm.

A woman in her 30s was allegedly assaulted by a man who was then reportedly chased by another man who witnessed the incident.

Officers want to speak to this man as a witness to the incident.

A 49-year-old man from Chesterfield has been arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm and released on police bail.
