Key Highlights

Ducati jumped on BS6 bandwagon with Panigale V2 and its next BS6 offering will be a Scrambler motorcycle. Following that, the Italian brand is likely to add Multistrada 950S to its India lineup. But globally Ducati is preparing to add a four-cylinder Multistrada to its portfolio. The company had revealed earlier this year that it is working on Multistrada V4 which will share some underpinnings with Panigale V4. Now, the company has started testing the bike and some spy shots have surfaced on the interweb. These images show the bike with minimal camouflage, suggesting that the flagship Multistrada could soon enter production. The word on the street is the Multistrada V4 is likely to replace Multistrada 1260 range although there has been no official word about this.

The all-new Ducati Multistrada V4 is likely to receive a handful of design tweaks as compared to the existing Multistrada 1260, including a redesigned headlamp and different side panels. However, the biggest change will be with regards to the engine. Instead of using Panigale V4's 1,103 cc engine Desmosedici Stradale four-cylinder unit, Ducati is likely to use a new 1,262 cc four-cylinder engine which will deliver more power than 156 bhp and 128 Nm available on BS4 1260 Multistrada. However, Multistrada V4 is likely to borrow some elements like the 19-inch front wheel and wire-spoke rims from Multistrada 1260 Enduro motorcycle.

Ducati Multistrada V4 will get a TFT instrument panel with Ducati Multimedia system (DMS) for smartphone connectivity and the safety list on the adventure-tourer will include Bosch cornering ABS, Ducati wheelie control system, Ducati cornering lights, cruise control, and vehicle hold control among other things.
