The Indian Premier League (IPL) will finally knock doors from September 19, and everything related to the event is witnessing its final phase. While a lot and lot has been done to successfully host the mega event inside the bio-secure bubble, it will be a thing to watch out how would the entire extravaganza unfolds.
The cricket action will take place across three cities of UAE, namely Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah. The IPL format has always been known for producing some thunderous innings. Sometimes it’s the team that throws the huge target collectively, or sometimes even a solo performance by a player steals the show.
Whatever it may be, the cash-rich and prestigious T20 league is famous for witnessing some great numbers on the board that generally breach the 200-run mark.

5. Kolkata Knight Riders-11
The Kolkata Knight Riders stand to be one of the most successful franchises in the history of IPL with two titles to their credit. They have outclassed the opponents with some hard-hitting skills in recent years. Starting from Brendon McCullum in opening years to Andre Russell currently, the list has some great names.
The thing to be noted at this point is that KKR’s first 200+ score happened to be in the very first match of IPL way back in 2008. It happened on April 18, 2018, that KKR stunned Royal Challengers Bangalore by posting 222/7 on the board. It is of no wonder that the team has crossed the 200-mark on 11 occasions.
KKR’s highest score came against Kings XI Punjab at Mohali in the 2018 edition of IPL where the former scored a gigantic 245/6. Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, and Dinesh Karthik’s fabulous innings pushed the team to produce this wonder. The Kolkata-based franchise has their maximum 200+ against Punjab itself.
4. Mumbai Indians- 12
It is of no wonder as to why Mumbai Indians are called tournament favourites in the IPL extravaganza. Rohit Sharma & co. has had the honour of lifting the IPL trophy four times, which is the maximum by any team so far in this mega league. The defending champions have many game-changing hitters in their line up like Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, and Sharma himself.
The Blue Army have been successful in posting a score of 200+ on as many as 12 occasions. Just like KKR, they didn’t have to struggle long for touching this mark, the team produced their maiden 200+ in the inaugural season only, courtesy Robin Uthappa and Abhishek Nayar.
Right from 2008 to 2019, the team has never looked dull and low to let others outclass them. Their most thrilling 200+ came last year- the same year when they defeated arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings in a nail-biting finale by one run and broke the heart of thousands of MSD fans. The franchise will try its best to defend its prestigious trophy.
3. Kings XI Punjab- 13
It might look surprising that the team, which is seen as one of the weakest in the IPL league has breached the 200+ mark on 13 occasions. The reason why it looked as one of the most underwhelming teams is, despite having an array of decent players, they haven’t been able to clinch the trophy even once in the history of IPL.
Their best show so far was back when they broke through the finals of IPL 2014 to give their opponents a tough time. Punjab’s whole 2014 season was decorated by stunning innings of Glenn Maxwell, and they reached the 200-club five times in that very season only. In total, they have scored 200+ on as many as 13 occasions.
In the current season, the team looks new and fresh to take up all the challenges coming their way. Wicket-keeper batsman KL Rahul is all set to lead the franchise for the first time from the front, and the Punjab squad will be marching up with new hopes and strength in their eyes this season.
2. Chennai Super Kings- 19
Well, the difference between no. three-team and two on this list in their 200+ scores is quite prominent. The MS Dhoni-led Yellow Army have never been even a bit less than phenomenal in all these seasons. Having played ten seasons in the IPL, they have qualified for playoffs in each season and saw the face of finals eight times.
They have crossed the 200+ mark on as many as 19 occasions where stars like Mike Hussey, Suresh Raina, Dwayne Bravo, and MSD himself never let things dry up for the franchise. They registered their maiden double ton in the inaugural session of IPL against Kings XI Punjab. They have touched their highest against Rajasthan Royals in 2010, and the man behind the stunning show was Murali Vijay.
Now talking of the current season, key names like Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh are not in their backyard. Without having experience of these names, it will be a thing to watch for as to how CSK will step up the ladder of success in this season to maintain their class consistency.
1. Royal Challengers Bangalore- 21
The most unusual thing in this list is Royal Challengers Bangalore topping the chart of most 200+ runs even they have failed to make a mark in the history of IPL. With Indian skipper Virat Kohli leading the side with some big names, the franchise are still struggling to lift the IPL trophy for once.
When Chris Gayle used to be in action for them, the crowd watched the show with their eyes and mouth open. RCB’s greatest team-total came in 2013 against Pune Warriors, where they score 263/5, and Chris Gayle’s unbeaten 175 left the whole Bengaluru simply stunned.
The team has the credit of reaching the 200+ club as many as 21 times so far and still look motivated enough to repeat innings of such stature. Though Gayle is not on their side anymore, the Kohli-led squad is gearing up well ahead of 2020 IPL in UAE to make it respectable for them. Their first match is against Sunrisers Hyderabad on September 21 in Duabi.
