Club ‘confident’ Manchester United will soon ‘make an offer’ for player – Know they may need to help
by Sport Witness TeamGareth Bale has been linked with a move to Manchester United since not long after he arrived at Real Madrid. With his situation under Zinedine Zidane becoming increasingly worse, the rumours inevitably continue to this day.
After English media claims that United could make a move for Bale should other options fade this summer, the Spanish media have picked up on it.
Sunday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo reports that whilst Madrid haven’t heard a thing from those in charge at Old Trafford, they’re ‘confident’ that Manchester United will soon ‘make an offer’ for the player.
What that confidence is based upon isn’t explained.
Mundo say the biggest potential issue isn’t a transfer fee, but the player’s wages. It’s accepted that no club wants to pay the €15m, after tax, the Welshman currently earns, and whilst claims of Madrid be willing to given him a pay-off are dismissed, the newspaper also makes clear the Spanish club are aware ‘this is what may end up happening’.
Zidane doesn’t want Bale in his dressing room, and would prefer an exit to happen ‘as soon as possible’.
Still, it’s insisted there’s been no movement from Manchester United, or anyone else, at this stage.
