Should Everton make Douglas Costa move following reports he’s now up for sale?
by Tom ProcterJuventus star Douglas Costa has reportedly been put up for sale by the Turin giants – and Everton might want to make some enquiries.
The Brazilian is seemingly not in Andrea Pirlo’s plans, and could now be allowed to depart after three seasons at the club according to Goal.
It was at Bayern Munich that Costa actually worked with current Toffees boss Carlo Ancelotti.
The trickster spent the 2015/16 season and 2016/17 with Bayern, with Ancelotti at the helm from June 2017 until September 2017.
Costa was loaned out on Ancelotti’s watch shortly before his sacking, but the South American did make 34 appearances in all competitions under the Italian.
With Juve open to offers for Costa, perhaps Everton should consider a move to finish their transfer window with a flourish.
TBR’s View – Costa could come ‘cheap’
There is every chance here that Costa could be signed for very little money.
The player has only two years remaining on his contract and has been transfer-listed.
If Everton can sell either Yannick Bolasie or Theo Walcott, or both, Costa could well come at a snip
Although his injury record is not pristine, Costa would definitely improve the Toffees’ starting XI and as a Brazilian, would fit right in with the growing contingent at the club.
He has proven himself to be a player that, on his day, can make things happen from wide areas, and his flair could light up Goodison Park.
