2020 CMT Music Awards to be broadcast next month

The 2020 CMT Music Awards — billed as country music’s only entirely fan-voted award show — will be handed out next month in Nashville, Tennessee.

Featuring outdoor performances in and around Music City, the show will be broadcast at 7 p.m Wednesday, Oct. 21 on CMT, with a six-network simulcast across MTV, MTV2, Logo, Paramount Network, Pop and TV Land, according to CMT.

The CMT Music Awards typically take place in summer, but the awards show's schedule, like practically everything else, has been scrambled this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

As previously reported, Checotah native Carrie Underwood in 2019 added to her total as the biggest winner in CMT Music Awards history. She has won 20 belt buckle trophies over the course of her career.
