Victoria’s daily infection rate has continued to stay low, with another 35 cases recorded overnight.

It comes as the Greater Melbourne region gets a slight taste of freedom, with the night time curfew extended an hour.

It’s now been a week and a half since case numbers were above 100, a good sign for the state’s road out of lockdown restrictions.

While there were another seven deaths also reported overnight.

The ages and genders of those people aren’t yet known, with authorities to provide an update later today.

It brings the state death toll to 730, and the national coronavirus death toll to 817.
