COVID-19:10 more die; JK sees highest-ever single-day rise in fresh cases

 Ten more persons died of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours, taking the number of casualties in J&K to 864 while Saturday recorded the highest-ever single-day spike of 1698 fresh cases, taking the total infection count to 52,410, officials said.
As per the government, the fresh casualties include six from Jammu division and four from Kashmir division.
With the fresh casualties, the death toll due to novel coronavirus has soared to 864 in Jammu Kashmir, which includes 721 from Kashmir and 143 from Jammu.
So far, Srinagar has reported 248 deaths, Baramulla 112, Budgam 70, Pulwama 60, Kupwara 56, Anantnag 53, Kulgam 40, Shopian and Ganderbal 29 each, and Bandipora 28.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has 85 deaths, Rajouri 15, Kathua 11, Doda nine, Samba eight, Poonch six, Udhampur four, Reasi three and one each from Ramban and Kishtwar.
On Saturday, J&K reported 1698 fresh coronavirus cases, the highest-ever single-day rise, which include 860 from Kashmir and 838 from Jammu division, pushing the total infection tally to 52,410.
The government said of the total 12,03,799 test results available, 11,51,389 returned negative and 52,410 positive which include 16,261 active positive cases while 35,285 have recovered and been discharged including the 596 persons discharged during the past 24 hours.
It said, so far, 5,15,897 persons had been put under observation including 42,414 in home quarantine and 16,261 in isolation while 53,090 people are under home surveillance and 4,03,268 persons have completed their surveillance period.
In Kashmir, Srinagar has a total of 11,498 cases, Budgam 3580, Baramulla 3399, Pulwama 3119, Anantnag 2848, Kupwara 2784, Bandipora 2710, Kulgam 2069, Ganderbal 2025, and Shopian 1865.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has 7947 cases, Udhampur 1398, Rajouri 1364, Kathua 1285, Samba 1037,
Poonch 821, Ramban 794, Doda 732, Reasi 570, and Kishtwar 565.
