5th peak in 12 days: Gujarat reports 1,365 fresh cases

Gujarat on Saturday witnessed another all-time high of Covid-19 cases in a single day, reporting 1,365 new cases in 24 hours. The state's Covid tally reached 1,12,336.

The highest number of cases was is Surat, which had 278 cases, followed by 175 cases in Ahmedabad. There were 125 cases in Jamnagar, 146 in Rajkot and 123 in Vadodara. There were 41 cases in Bhavnagar, 37 in Gandhinagar and 39 in Junagadh.

Apart from major districts, 50 cases were reported in Mehsana, 31 in Patan, 29 in the Panchmahals, 28 in Morbi, 26 in Banaskantha, 25 in Amreli and 20 in Dahod.

There were 19 cases each in Bharuch and Tapi, 18 in Kutch, 15 each in Gir-Somnath and Navsari, and 14 in Narmada. There were 10 cases each in Botad, Mahisagar and Sabarkantha. Other districts reported cases in single digits.

There were 15 Covid deaths reported in Gujarat on Saturday.

Planning air travel? AAI issues pointers

Giving information on the rules and regulations in place for air passengers flying into major airports in Gujarat, the Airport's Authority of India tweeted some pointers on Saturday. While there will be no quarantine for domestic fliers at Ahmedabad, Bhavnagar and Porbandar, thermal screening will be done.

They will also have to certify their status through Aarogya Setu app or a self-decleration form. For all international passengers coming to Gujarat, there will be total 14-day quarantine, including 7 days each of institutional and home quarantine.
