Inching Towards 50 Lakh-Mark: 92,071 New Cases & 1,136 Deaths
Amid World Health Organisation(WHO) reports raising alarm over the biggest increase in the corona cases were from India, the United States and Brazil, India’s COVID tally on Monday touched the 48 lakh mark with a spike of 92,071 new cases in the last 24 hours.
While the corona continued to gloom India, now the second worst-hit country in the world, it recorded over 1 lakh cases for the fifth consequence day. Taking the total caseload of the country to 48,46,428, India now has 9,86,598 active cases while 37,80,108 patients were cured/discharged/migrated, confirmed the health officials.
According to the recent health bulletin from the Union health Ministry, the Indian states and union territories in the last 24 hours logged 1,136 deaths reported in the last 24 hours as the total death toll is now at 79,722.
In a testing update released by ICMR, a total of 5,72,39,428 samples were tested so far in India while 9,78,500 were tested on 13th September alone.
The total number of coronavirus cases in Andhra Pradesh touched 5.67 lakh on Sunday with 9,536 new cases across the state. The state recorded 66 more deaths, pushing the death toll to 4,912. Telangana on the other hand, logged 1,417 new cases taking the total toll to 1,58,000. The state’s death toll is now at 974 with 13 new fatalities.
