Lakra says he now fears for his life
by Staff ReporterThe 83-year-old tribal lawyer Joseph Lakra, who lodged a complaint of misconduct against the SDM of Bagicha, now says that he fears for his own life and that of his family.
After accusing Sub Divisional Magistrate Rohit Vyas of intruding into his house with armed guards, Lakra said he and his have registered a complaint with the police and the Special Police Station for SC/ST along with other police officials.
Releasing the complaint to the media on Sunday, Lakra said after he complained to the Governor and Chief Minister about the official, the SDM along with his junior colleagues and armed security personnel forcefully entered his house.
“Fearing for life, my son Jovakim started to record the whole incident in video. The officials tried to snatch his mobile phone. The SDM then asked his gunman to tackle him,” said Lakra.
Fearing physical assault, his son escaped from the house. Lakra said he and his family now fear for their lives.
SDM Vyas when contacted again denied to speak on the matter
Bhaskar Sharma, Town Inspector of Bagicha, said: “Two complaints have been received against Bagicha SDM and others. One has been filed by the elderly lawyer Joseph Lakra and the second by his son Jovakim Lakra. Action will be taken on both the complaints.”
Sarva Adivasi Samaj Vice President Animanand said to media that the elderly Lakra has lodged a complaint with the community against the SDM.
