Mumbai: The latest Saamana editorial has criticised the retired Navy Official who was beaten up by Shiv Sena workers. The editorial says why didn't this person ask for the resignation of the President, Prime Minister and Rakasha Mantri when we lost 20 of our own soldiers at the LAC.

The editorial further stated that there are many serious issues which the nation is facing. COVID cases have crossed the mark of 50 Lakh. The economy is down, due to lockdown business are down, many people have lost their lives. Pakistan-sponsored terrorists are attacking our Army, China is giving threats at Arunachal borders etc. Will there be any serious discussion on this in Parliament? Or to divert attention from these issues some non-important issues will get Importance and priority? On Social media, petty issues are getting talked by troll army of the central government. Now they have selected Mumbai and Madan Sharma issue.

The editorial further stated that angry Shiv Sainiks had beaten up Madan Sharma, a retired Navy official in Mumbai. No one is supporting this act. Such an act is condemnable. But what did Madan Sharma get by circulating that cartoon? Wasn't he taught in Navy that we should respect a person who is holding a constitutional position?

Saamna editorial also added, in the state where you stay, you earn, you grow, there only you insult the CM of that state and if some angry people attack you, all of a sudden you start making noise about the attack on free speech etc. What was more shocking that Rajnath Singh called this person and consoled him. So tomorrow if this person insults President, PM, Defence Minister, Governor then will he get the same treatment from Centre? BJP supported this person but what about the revenge of 20 soldiers who lost their lives at China border?

The editorial also added that there are many examples where retired armed forces personnel were attacked in states like UP, Bihar in those cases, the BJP remained silent. Akhlak, who was killed in UP, his son is serving for the nation in armed forces. The editorial also talked about states like Himachal which has given 'Y+' security to the actress who has threatened Uddhav Thackeray and Mumbai Police. What they have done for a woman who was raped by seven men and threatened to kill her if she raised her voice. This incident also happened in Himachal.
