Liverpool on Saturday, September 12, labored hard against Premier League returnees Leeds United beating them 4-3 in their first game of the 2020/21 season.

Considering how Liverpool won the Premier League title last season and how they even started, one would have expected a convincing win over Leeds United this time around.

Dijk was solely at fault for the away side's second goal after he lazily failed to clear a long ball into the area at Anfield.

The loose ball was picked up by Leeds striker Patrick Bamford who fired home prompting an immediate response from Carragher who was not happy with such performance.

''That's just too arrogant.

"He tries to flick it around rather than just dealing with it. Maybe that's because it's Leeds United, a new team, and he thinks it's a little bit too easy,'' Jamie explained.

While responding, Dijk stated clearly that he tried to do his best in the game for his club.

"It was one of those situations that can happen.

"I always try to do my best and that's what I did. Unfortunately a goal came from it but I don't worry about that,'' Dijk explained to belN Sports.

Zakaria was diagnosed with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) also known as motor neurone disease and will not play football again.

Salah scored two penalties in the Reds unconvincing 4-3 win against the newly-promoted side at Anfield while Virgil van Dijk was also on the score-sheet.
