Delhi airport launches Covid testing facility

by

Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport has launched Covid-19 testing facility for international passengers who are either entering the city or transiting through it.

This is India’s first airport Covid-19 testing facility. The service is available in partnership with Premium Plaza Lounge and Genestrings Diagnostic Centre, a Delhi-based laboratory, which is currently associated with the state government to test samples.

Passengers can book the slot online and proceed to the ‘Covid Test Center and Lounge’ on arrival. After the test, they can relax in the lounge while awaiting the results.

The results will be available within four to six hours. Passengers with negative test result can proceed to state desk at the lounge for clearance of their onward journey.

The state officials will stamp the hands of the passengers with Covid negative certificate and let them proceed for their trip.

In case of a positive result, the passenger will be processed in line with applicable ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research) protocols issued by the state authorities.

Travellers are advised to book their domestic connection with at least eight to ten hours of gap from arrival.

The Covid lab has been built in 3,500 sqm area at multi-level car parking (MLCP) of Terminal 3.

The cost of this test package ranges up to ₹5,000.
