Operation Shadow Legacy is live now for Rainbow Six Siege, as revealed during today's Ubisoft Forward event. Splinter Cell star Sam Fisher joins the game as a new Operative, and Ubisoft has also included a map rework, along with other changes.

Sam Fisher, codenamed Zero, is an Attacker. His primary weapons are the SC3000K and MP7, with the 5.6 USG as a secondary weapon, and frag grenades and claymores as his gadgets. Zero's unique ability is the Argus Launcher, which Ubisoft says "is equipped with very special cameras that can lodge themselves into breakable and reinforced surface to surveil either side." This means you "can cover two angles and... spy on the opposing team." The cameras can also utilise a laser shot, "perfect for destroying key elements in the Defenders’ setup or drawing attention away from choke points."

Chalet has had a map rework due to not being as "viable" as the other maps. To this end, doors have been moved, new hallways and corridors have been added. The "biggest changes" include moving the stairs in the Bedroom, while the Bathroom has been modified into "a rotation point."

Ubisoft has also added a new Map Ban feature which, when players are offered a pre-selection of three maps, allows them to ban one or two. A new Ping system is also on the way, letting you use "contextual pings." There's also been a price decrease for seven Operators: Amaru and Goyo now cost 20,000 Renown or 480 R6 Credits, Maverick and Clash are 15,000 Renown or 360 R6 Credits, and Ying, Lesion and Ela are 10,000 Renown or 240 R6 Credits.

Operation Shadow Legacy is live now for players with the Year 5 pass.

Hey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
