2023 Ford Bronco Raptor spy photos

An upgraded version of the Bronco has been caught testing, suggesting this could be the new Raptor.

A vehicle thought to be the Bronco Raptor has been caught driving in the US.

These spy photos show a number of features suggesting this may be the performance version of the Bronco: raised ride height, wider body, and upgraded suspension all providing clues that this could be the Raptor.

While details remain scarce, rumours are the Bronco Raptor will get the 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 from the Ford Explorer ST sold in the US, with the 3.5-litre of the F-150 Raptor overlooked due to packaging restraints. If true, expect 298kW and 563Nm.

The dual exhaust tips mounted below the number plate on this prototype certainly hint at an upgraded powertrain.

The Bronco Raptor was accidentally confirmed by a Ford engineer in late August, listing the model as a project they were involved in on the website LinkedIn.

The slip-up referred to the performance SUV as the 2023 Bronco Raptor – meaning we may not see the vehicle officially unveiled until 2022.

Ford launched the Bronco sub-brand in early July, with the company unveiling three models positioned to compete directly with Jeep – combining off-road capability with durable and practical designs.
