Backflip: NVIDIA Will Sell New RTX Founders Edition GPUs In Australia

In an abrupt about-face from NVIDIA, the manufacturer has confirmed it will sell Founders Edition versions of its RTX 3080 and 3090 GPUs in Australia.

NVIDIA’s initial decision to not stock the Founders Edition (FE) graphic cards in Australia met with considerable backlash from customers, and the company responded this week by saying the feedback had led it to reverse course. The FE GPUs will now be sold through Sydney-based parts retailer Mwave.

“Since we expect considerable demand, the cards will be available on a first in basis from Mwave and will be available to purchase from Thursday the 17th of September at 11.00pm AEST for the GeForce RTX 3080 and Thursday the 24th of September at 11.00pm AEST for the GeForce RTX 3090, at the same time as general availability of partner cards for both GPUs,” said NVIDIA.

The RTX 3080 and 3090 FE graphics cards will sell for $1139 AUD and $2429 AUD respectively. The 3070 will be available internationally from October 15; NVIDIA has yet to confirm if this includes Australia.
