BSNL offers 5GB free data to all landline customers with one year validity; Here is how you can get this offer

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), the largest wireline operator in the country has recently announced the launch of Complimentary 5GB WiFi Data Offer to all landline customers who are not having broadband connection.

The scheme was launched on 1st July 2020 by BSNL CMD, Sri. P K Purwar. Now all BSNL landline users will receive 5GB high speed WiFi data with one year validity. With this scheme, BSNL allows broadband access to all landline customers to improve broadband adoption and movement upward in the value chain. BSNL will be achieving the objective of "Broadband for All" through this scheme.

BSNL landline user near a BSNL WiFi hotspot zone will have to turn on WiFi on his mobile handset and select the BSNL WiFi SSID. Then, the user will be redirected to the Captive Portal where one has to select the landline tab. Further, the user needs to enter the landline number with the STD and click on the "Get PIN" option. The user needs to enter the PIN that they receive on the registered mobile number (RMN) to enjoy the data.

How to Get BSNL's 5GB Free WiFi Offer?  How BSNL Landline Customer will Access the service ?
To provide this 5GB WiFi data to BSNL landline customers 'BSNL WiFi' SSID is being used. In BSNL WiFi Core, a bundle of 5GB data pack has been provisioned for all landline customers (pre-provisioned for all the land line numbers by mapping their Registered Mobile Number). The customer is entitled to utilize the 5GB quota through multiple sessions till he/she exhausts the quota or One Year Validity whichever is earlier. After exhausting the 5GB data pack, customer can buy any of the available data vouchers online on the WiFi Portal through PayTM or other online methods.
Procedure to be followed by the customers for availing 5GB Free WiFi Broadband Data
User Selects BSNL WiFi SSID
User will be redirected to the Captive Portal
User has to select Landline tab on Captive Portal
User has to enter Landline number with STD code and need to click on get PIN on RMN (Registered Mobile Number)
User needs to enter the received PIN received on RMN
After successful authentication, User will be able to access 5GB Data
After exhausting of 5GB quota, user will be redirected to purchase the available data plans

This service is provided through BSNL WiFi Hotspots (MDO - Mobile Data Offload / USOF) available across the country and can be accessed by all the landline customers who have registered their mobile numbers with BSNL. The PSU has 34,260 WiFi hotspots in 26,859 WiFi hotspot locations across India.
