Verstappen happy for Albon: "Good to see Alex on the podium"
by GPblog.comMax Verstappen had a competitive RB16, but there were some problems with the Honda engine. Verstappen also congratulates Albon on his podium finish.
“I am of course very disappointed as I know this could have been a really good race for us," says Verstappen in a review for Red Bull. "I had a good launch at the start of the race and went around Lewis but then the car just didn't accelerate so I lost a lot of speed and had no power."
Verstappen saw opportunities
The nine-time Grand Prix winner wants to forget the weekend at Mugello as soon as possible. "There isn't much more to say but it is just really disappointing for the Team that we had to retire again, especially when we looked so competitive," says the 22-year old Limburger.
One ray of hope was that Alexander Albon was able to take a podium place for the first time. "It is, of course, good to see that Alex maximize the result and get on the podium," Verstappen congratulates his teammate.
