Paris Hilton reflects on sex tape scandal 16 years on: 'It was traumatising'

Paris Hilton has spoken out about her 2004 sex tape scandal, calling the experience ‘traumatising.’

The star, who has a new documentary This Is Paris out on YouTube tomorrow, reflected on the incident in an interview with the New York Times, stressing it was a ‘private moment.’

‘To have that come out,’ she said, ‘such a private moment, and for the whole world to be watching it and laughing like it’s some sort of entertainment, was just traumatizing.’

The film was made in 2001 by her then-boyfriend Rick Samolon, and released and marketed as 1 Night In Paris.

He released the 62-minute video shortly after The Simple Life, Paris’s TV show with Nicole Richie, debuted on TV.

‘I could not be more proud of everything she has accomplished.’

In another recent interview with The Sunday Times, Paris said Kim had inspired her to freeze her eggs.

‘I had a really amazing conversation with Kim [Kardashian] about it,’ she said.

‘She introduced me to her doctor, and I was so inspired by her to actually do it.’
