BLU maker Coretronic sees revenues up slightly in August

Backlit unit (BLU) and projector provider Coretronic has reported revenues of NT$3.899 billion (US$133.14 million) for August, up 5% sequentially but down 12% on year.

The company attributed the sequential growth to a rebound in demand for both of its energy saving devices, mainly BLUs, as well as its projectors and image solutions.

Shipments of BLUs and ODM display devices totaled 4.154 million units in August, up 5% on month. Total shipments for this category of products for the January-August period were also up 5% from a year earlier.

Shipments of projectors and other image solutions totaled 63,000 units in August, up 35% sequentially. Sales of these products reached 473,000 units in the first eight months of 2020, down 15% on year.

Year-to-date revenues amounted to NT$26.612 billion, decreasing 15% from a year earlier.
