Tau was handed his second successive start by manager Vincent Kompany after netting in their 2-2 draw before the international break.

The Bafana attacker was instrumental for the opening goal as he won the penalty after being brought down in the box by David Bates just as he was about to shoot.

Former Manchester City striker Lukas Nmecha made no mistake from 12 yards to open the scoring in the 36th minute for his first goal of the season.

The lead was eventually doubled in the 68th minute with Tau involved once again, as it was a foul on the Bafana man that led to the free-kick that was put away by Michael Murillo.

Anderlecht managed to see out the remaining stages of the second half to end their run of back-to-back draws in the Belgian top flight, while Tau had another influential outing for the Belgian giants.

Kompany's charges have now moved up to fifth spot in the standings, three points adrift of the league leaders, Charleroi.
