Zinedine Zidane set to thwart Manchester United’s latest transfer move

Manchester United are braced for a setback.

Zinedine Zidane is a stalwart figure. He is an icon in the world of football. As a player he would run through thickets of defenders with ease. He mesmerised his opponents. As a manager he has the same magnitude winning Champions League and La Liga titles for fun with Real Madrid. He is an extremely difficult man to beat. Manchester United’s task could be a mighty one.

The Red Devils are in dire need of a composed and consistent left-back. Sevilla in the Europa League semi-final exposed that.

And in Sergio Reguilon who was strutting his stuff for the Seville based side with distinction in that match, the Red Devils may have found the perfect candidate for their long-term left-back.

Unfortunately, Sergio Reguilon belongs to the ranks of Real Madrid and the Galacticos very rarely let their players go on the cheap.

The giant club are known to demand hefty fees and in the current financial climate that will make United’s job even more difficult.

And according to the Daily Mirror via the Daily Express, United are in another stand-off with Zidane. Not only over Sergio Reguilon’s transfer fee but with Madrid’s insistence to include a buy-back clause.

The report claims Woodward is reluctant to do that and one will understand United’s decision.

A buy-back clause will mean the Red Devils will develop one of their rivals’ key player and that will not benefit United in the long run.

Therefore while fans will be quick to jump on Woodward’s back, in this case the United chief might be making the right decision.

Do you think Man United should buy Sergio Reguilon with Madrid’s insistence to include a buy-back clause?
