Manchester United fans issue Sergio Reguilon transfer demand after Sevilla confirm new signing
Sevilla have announced the signing of Marco Acuna which has given Man United supporters a theory on Sergio Reguilon.
by Daniel MurphyManchester United fans are now confident that the club will sign Real Madrid defender Sergio Reguilon after his old club Sevilla announced the arrival of a new left-back.
Following the arrival of Donny van de Beek from Ajax, MEN Sport understands that United are working on up to three more transfers before the window closes on October 5.
While attacking signings are being prioritised and Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho remains the top target, it's understood that the club are also looking at a number of left-backs due to uncertainty in the position.
Luke Shaw missed the end of last season with another injury and his absence was keenly felt as United fell to defeat the semi-finals of the FA Cup and Europa League. The naturally right-footed Brandon Williams was his replacement but the teenager struggled for form.
Reguilon is one of those being monitored after he impressed on loan at Sevilla last season, playing a key part in knocking United out of Europe as the La Liga side went on to lift the trophy.
Despite his talent, the 23-year-old remains behind Ferland Mendy and Marcelo in the pecking order at Madrid and looks increasingly likely to leave the Bernabeu again this summer.
As well as United, it was reported that Sevilla were also interested in signing Reguilon and wanted to bring him back for another season on loan.

However, the club confirmed the signing of Sporting Lisbon left-back Marcos Acuna on Monday and United fans believe that it has now ruled them out of the race for Reguilon, leaving the door open for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to sign him up.
As well as Reguilon, it's understood that United are also monitoring Dynamo Kiev's 21-year-old left-back Vitaliy Mykolenko.
United have less than a week to complete any new signings before they get their Premier League campaign underway against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on Saturday. The transfer window closes on October 5.
