Hamilton building partially collapses due to adverse weather

A busy Hamilton road was closed at the weekend as emergency services rushed to a collapsed building in the town.

Motorists were asked to avoid Low Waters Road in Hamilton on Sunday afternoon after the side of a building had collapsed due to adverse weather.

Lanarkshire Police Division posted on their Facebook page: “Motorists are asked to avoid Low Waters Road #Hamilton after the side of a building has collapsed due to adverse weather.

South Lanarkshire Council posted on their social media: “Low Waters Road, Hamilton has been closed due to an unsafe building.

“Diversion via Johnstone Road -Silvertonhill Ave - Newlands Drive.”
