Amelie Lens, Paulette, Sama' and more team up for a 12-hour livestream in aid of Beirut
It will open with two minutes of silence in commemoration of those who lost their lives
by Jemima Skala | Photo: Michel KhouryOver 100 DJs and producers from around the world have teamed up to create ‘For Beirut’, a 12-hour livestream taking place on September 13. It’s part of the second edition of Electronic Labour Day, the first of which took place in May 2020 to fundraise for musicians affected by the lockdown.
The event will start at 1:58pm EEST (11:58am BST), and will open with two minutes of silence and reflection to commemorate roughly 200 victims who lost their lives in the devastating explosion that rocked the city on August 4 this year.
The stream will go on for 12 hours, ending at 2am EEST (12am BST).

Among those confirmed to headline the livestream are Amelie Lens, Pete Tong and Skream. Others confirmed to play include Paulette, Sama’ and Waze of Waze & Odyssey.
The goal of the livestream is to fundraise $500,000 which will be split between three grassroots organisations: Beirut Emergency Fund, a coalition of different Lebanese diaspora organisations that supports non-profit and non-governmental organisations who are on the ground in Beirut responding to the humanitarian crisis; Impact Lebanon, who have teamed up with various vetted, apolitical and non-sectarian NGOs in Lebanon to pool resources where they’re most needed; and Bebw’shebbek, which is dedicated to rebuilding homes destroyed by the explosion.
You can tune into the livestream on the Electronic Labour Day website or on Beatport’s Twitch channel.
