by Gavin QuinnBallymun saw two players red carded after a brutal brawl marred the ending to their Dublin SFC semi-final win over Kilmacud Crokes this evening.
The North Dublin club ran out 1-18 to 1-12 winners in Parnell Park as they booked a final date with Ballyboden St. Enda's.
But it was the final scenes in Donnycarney that cast a shadow over the occasion, with forward David Byrne and wing-back Leon Young sent off as a result.
Substitute Jason Whelan and Kilmacud defender Cian O'Connor kicked off the melee as they tangled off the ball, leading to surrounding players attempting to break up the pair.
After all settled down, O'Connor claimed his eye was gouged as he and Whelan received yellow cards for their part.
But it was Byrne and Young who saw red for their roles in skirmishes in the brawl, with both players now out of the county final as things stand.
Others involved in the schemozzle could yet face punishments, with footage of the incident likely to be viewed by officials.
The brawl came just minutes after Cathal O'Tighe's goal all but sealed victory for the 2012 Dublin kingpins, they'll be back in Parnell Park for the decider in two weeks.
