Iconikal Rockchip RK3328: A US$10 single-board computer with more power than a Raspberry Pi 3
by Alex AldersonThe Raspberry Pi ecosystem may be vast, but there are cheaper single-board computers (SBC) out there that also offer more performance. One such SBC is the Iconikal Rockchip RK3328, which currently sells for US$10 on Amazon. Liliputing notes that stock levels are fluctuating on Amazon, so we would recommend checking back if the board is currently unavailable.
Unsurprisingly, a Rockchip RK3328 power the Iconikal, which features four ARM Cortex-A53 cores that can reach 1.5 GHz. Iconikal has paired the SoC with 1 GB of LPDDR3 RAM, three USB ports, a Gigabit Ethernet port, an HDMI connection and a 3.5 mm jack. The Iconikal also has a Raspberry Pi-compatible 40 pin header, like many SBCs.
If those specifications sound familiar, then it is because the Iconikal appears to be a re-badged Pine ROCK64. This should make the Iconikal compatible with ROCK64 software though, which is a bonus. The Iconikal does not have built-in Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, but it does come with a 16 GB microSD card and a 16x2 character external LCD screen. A 5V/3A barrel-shaped power connector is included, too.
