Ethiopia's Tigray region has held elections in a show of defiance against Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. He's called the vote illegal, but says the federal government will not respond with force. Also, it's a diplomatic milestone for Somaliland as the breakaway self-declared nation opens a de facto embassy in Taiwan.
