Trent Boult Excited To Be A Part Of The ‘Cool Group’ At Mumbai Indians

Trent Boult, New Zealand pace-bowling spearhead, is really excited at the prospect of representing the four-time IPL winners, Mumbai Indians, in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League.

The 13th edition of the cash-rich IPL will kickstart from September 19 with the defending champions Mumbai Indians locking horns with the Chennai Super Kings at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Mumbai Indians with without the services of the legendary Lasith Malinga after the highest wicket-taker in the history of the competition decided to pull out of the 13th season due to ‘personal reasons’. Boult will have a huge role to play in Malinga’s absence.

Boult has represented the likes of Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals in the past. And, so he knows what its like facing an intimidating opposition like the Mumbai Indians. The southpaw is pleased to be on the other end this time around.

”I have played for a couple of other franchises but I am obviously excited to be a part of the Mumbai Indians family. Speaking from experience I have played against them a few times. The big challenge that you face when you come up against this side is that they have always been very intimidating. So it’s nice to be on the other end of it and be part of such a cool group,” Trent Boult was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

‘I am hoping for good wickets’- Trent Boult

This years’ IPL is taking place in the United Arab Emirates due to the Covid-19 situation in India. And, so apart from getting themselves match-fit after such a long layoff, the major challenge for the players, as Trent Boult, pointed out to get acclimatized to the heat of the Emirates.

”The biggest challenge has been trying to prepare to come to 45 degrees in the middle of the dessert. I come from a very small country New Zealand which is about 7 or 9 degrees at the moment.,” Trent Boult said.

“I have played cricket here. I know conditions can change very drastically. But I am hoping for good wickets,” he added.
