Jose Mourinho appears to confirm that Spurs have made a move for Alexander Sorloth
by Tom McNeilJose Mourinho is a mixed bag in his interviews because usually he’ll give nothing away, but if he’s frustrated with his team then he’ll use it as a chance to put pressure on club chiefs to make some signings.
Their loss against Everton today was wholly uninspiring and the loss was well deserved, but it looked worrying from a team point of view rather than just looking at individual positions.
The whole thing just looked completely disjointed which isn’t uncommon when it comes to Jose Mourinho’s teams, but he’ll be hoping for some reinforcements to arrive.

He was asked about a potential move for Alexander Sorloth of Trabzonspor after the game today, and his comments do make it sound like the club are trying to sign him:
He also states that the team didn’t lose today because of the striking position but he clearly wants another option up front, so this is worth following in the next few days.

September 13, 2020 at 10:49 pmIt’s a creative player that we desperately need …more than anything else!!! The flair of past Spurs teams throughout our history has reflected that ..with world class playmakers like Eriksen and Modric more recently.
Today, especially in the 2nd half, was appalling! No pressure, no linking, no imagination, misplaced lazy passes, slow build-ups with no cutting edge, no decent hold up play (either up front or in midfield) and generally just looking dull and shattered (I mean, where were the fitness levels that made us the fittest team in the PL a few years ago?!). It was boring to watch and frustrating as hell.
You can’t just blame Mourinho, although I didn’t think Dele warranted being replaced at HT, because Sissoko (like many others) was hopeless. No wonder Kane showed he had the hump. With England and now Spurs, he’s cutting a forlorn figure. Part of that is down to his own sharpness looking diminished, but he must be sick of playing in teams that don’t link through the whole park anymore, and although England have lacked a creative midfielder for a long time, Spurs (unless Lo Celso steps up, and Ali is allowed to play as a number 10) are going to fall away without any decent creative/attacking midfielder; and I believe Kane will ask to leave Spurs before its too late to achieve what he’s ‘obviously’ becoming more desperate to achieve!Harry Dangerfield says:
September 13, 2020 at 10:57 pmTime to review the leadership at the club. Dier needed to be sold along with Moura, Aurier, Lamela, Rose, Alli and some other fringe players. None have been sold so we have a team that basically failed last year.We did not need Joe Hart so a waste of time. We have no creative midfield players and a weak back line. This is a leadership issue from Levy and Mourinho, they need to wake up and get a grip or we may find ourselves in real trouble this year.
