NASHVILLE, Tennessee - The Academy of Country Music, dick clark productions and CBS today announced that global superstar and two-time Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year Taylor Swift will return to the ACM Awards stage for the first time in seven years.

Swift will give a world premiere performance from her record-breaking new album folklore, at the 55th Academy of Country Music Awards, "a night of heart and hits" that will air live from Nashville, Tennessee. The nine-time ACM Award-winner will perform from the legendary Grand Ole Opry House.

The ACM Awards normally take place in the spring in Las Vegas, but have been shifted to a fall date in Music City due to the coronavirus pandemic.

As previously reported, the ACM Awards will be hosted by reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year and 15-time ACM Award winner Keith Urban. The awards show will be broadcast live from Nashville from 7 to 10 p.m. Wednesday on the CBS Television Network. The show will be available to stream on demand and on CBS All Access.

Swift will perform “betty” from her record-breaking eighth studio album "folklore," which has spent six weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart, according to a news release. That ties her with Whitney Houston for the most cumulative weeks atop the chart by a woman in history.

For the first time in the show’s history, the awards will take place in Nashville, broadcasting from three iconic country music venues: Grand Ole Opry House, Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium and the Bluebird Cafe.

As previously announced, the 55th ACM Awards will also feature performances by Checotah native Carrie Underwood, former Owasso resident Trisha Yearwood, former Tishomingo resident Miranda Lambert, Ada native Blake Shelton featuring Gwen Stefani, Jimmie Allen, Kelsea Ballerini, Gabby Barrett, Kane Brown, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Luke Combs, Dan + Shay, Florida Georgia Line, Riley Green, Tim McGraw, Maren Morris, Old Dominion and Thomas Rhett featuring Jon Pardi, Tenille Townes, Morgan Wallen and more to be announced.

As previously reported, Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, Garth Brooks, Miranda Lambert, Brooks & Dunn and Maddie & Tae are among the stars with Oklahoma ties who were announced back in February as nominees for the 2020 ACM Awards.
