'Pound for pound, the best' - TV pundit makes Swansea City transfer claim

The Swans claimed a 1-0 win over Preston in their first Championship match of the season

A pundit has claimed Swansea City have had the best transfer window in the Championship.

The Swans kicked off their Sky Bet Championship campaign off in style with a 1-0 win away at Preston North End on Saturday.

New loan signing Morgan Gibbs-White netted the only goal of the game, as the Swans got a clean sheet and all three points in their league opener.

Former striker Sam Parkin reckons that the Swans have done the best recruitment this summer ‘pound for pound’ in the whole Championship.

After Rhian Brewster returned to Liverpool following his loan stint, Swansea brought in Jamal Lowe, Korey Smith, Marc Guehi (loan), Freddie Woodman (loan), as well as Gibbs-White.

“I think Swansea, pound for pound, that’s probably the best summer recruitment in the Championship,” Parkin told Quest.

He added: “I think defensively they’ve now got Guehi, Cabango and Rodon, that’s three quality centre halves and maybe that stability that they just missed to get over the line in the play-offs last year.”

Swansea will now gear up for their next test in the Championship, which comes at home to Birmingham City on Saturday.
