Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia Tests Positive For Covid-19, Goes Into Self-Isolation

"I was experiencing mild fever and got myself tested for corona and the report came back positive. I have self-isolated," Sisodia tweeted.

Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia on Monday announced that he tested positive for coronavirus after having mild symptoms of fever. In a tweet in Hindi, the minister said that he underwent a Covid-19 test today and tested positive for the virus. The senior Aam Aadmi Party leader has gone into self-isolation as a precautionary measure.

“I was experiencing mild fever and got myself tested for corona and the report came back positive. I have self-isolated,” Sisodia tweeted.

“At the moment, I have no fever or any other difficulty at the moment and am absolutely fine. I will recover soon and return to work with all of your blessings,” he further wrote.

Earlier today, Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel had informed that Sisodia will not be attending the special one-day session of Delhi Legislative Assembly as he is having fever since last night.

Notably, Health minister Satyendar Jain had also tested positive for the virus in June.

The national capital on Sunday recorded over 4,000 Coronavirus cases, making it the fifth consecutive day to register such a big caseload. With a spike of 4,235 cases, the total number of active cases in the city now stands at 28,812.

Further, the total containment zones in Delhi has risen to 1,488.
