When can fans see them together again?
The Internet has been singing praise for Henry Cavill ever since they saw him in Netflix’s ‘The Witcher’ last year. It seems as if fans have already forgotten that he first won our hearts when he donned Superman’s red cape. His performance as Clark Kent and sheer dedication to fit Superman’s silhouette wasn’t appreciated as much as it should’ve been!
Henry CavillThe road to San Diego is long. The good news is, on her worst day, Roach beats the company of Men, Elves, Gnomes and even Dwarves. She's not always easy, but she knows more than most and cares just enough to be the only kind of company worth enjoying. #Roach #SDCC #ComicCon @WitcherNetflix
And then came what critics are calling Cavill’s “break-out role”, as Geralt of Rivia in ‘The Witcher’. The Netflix series is based on the novels by author Andrzej Sapkowski and has been touted for its mythological storyline. Cavill’s representation of Geralt, the yellow-eyed, white-haired mutant and monster-hunter has been commended, and has given him yet another spot in the limelight!
And then there’s Jason Momoa, who isn’t averse to the magical fantasy genre either! His first major fantasy role saw him play the great Khal Drogo on HBO’s ‘Game Of Thrones’. Momoa’s performance, as the towering warlord and chief of his Dothraki Khalasar, in the first season needs no explanation.

His character marries a young Daenerys and was instrumental to the first season even though Drogo dies at the end. In fact, his presence was so impactful that some fans wondered if Momoa could speak in English, as opposed to his grunts and fluent Dothraki in ‘Game of Thrones’.
A recent revelation has sparked rumours that Henry Cavill and Jason Momoa will be seen together once again! Keep reading as we attempt to read between the lines and find out how.
Aquaman and Superman will reunite in Zack Snyder’s ‘Justice League’
Henry Cavill and Jason Momoa were last seen together in ‘Justice League’, the 2017 DC Extended Universe film. Originally directed by Zack Snyder, the film follows Aquaman, Superman, and other DC heroes battling an army of supervillains. The event is the catastrophic threat of Steppenwolf and his army of Parademons threatening to destroy the world.
The theatrical release back in 2017 underwent major transformational changes when director Zack Snyder stepped down during post-production. ‘Justice League’, now being spearheaded by Joss Whedon, saw a number of reshoots and added humour wherever possible.
The addition of a brighter tone, (a feat DC fans are unaccustomed to) and several cuts led to the film receiving mixed reviews.
The silver lining though is that fans had the opportunity to see Aquaman and Superman on screen together!
That opportunity is being extended yet again, as Zack Snyder is helming the original version of ‘Justice League’. Earlier this May, Snyder announced that the cut would be titled ‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’ and will premiere in mid-2021.
The new film will be initially released as a four-part mini-series and then a film that combines each hour-long episode. The restoration will cost a staggering $30 million, but the story will remain the same. And Henry Cavill and Jason Momoa will reunite in the cut as Superman and Aquaman, once again!
Momoa is being considered for ‘The Witcher’ prequel series
Who wouldn’t want to see Jason Momoa make an appearance alongside Henry Cavill’s monster-hunter Geralt in ‘The Witcher’ prequel series? According to Cavill’s recent announcement, it seems as if the second season of the fantasy series has begun filming. Just days later, this piece of fan-art surfaced on Instagram, suggesting that an incredible collaboration is in the works!

We’ve already seen them play superheroes in the DC Extended Universe, and will see them reunite in the Snyder cut. But just how amazing would it be to see them together in the Witcher universe? ‘The Witcher’ fan-art created by ‘spdrmnkyxxiii’ on Instagram sees Cavill’s character Geralt standing alongside a fictionalised version of Momoa. The duo appear to be well-suited for battle, and give us hope that we might get to see them together again!
When can fans see them together again?
Jason Momoa will reprise his role as Arthur, the half-human, half-Atlantean hero and protector of the water world in 2022! The film is slated to be a sequel to the first DCEU film, but the ‘Aquaman 2’ plot is unknown. Assuming that the film is still in its production stage, maybe Henry Cavill can bag a cameo role alongside him?
As for Henry Cavill, the ‘Superman’ actor seems to be quite busy filming ‘The Witcher’ Season 2. He will also be next seen playing Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s literary sleuth Sherlock Holmes in ‘Enola Holmes’! And according to “Deadline”, Superman and Henry Cavill are not done yet, as opposed to what many believe.
