Alvaro Gonzalez slams 'bad loser' Neymar after denying racism claim

Marseille star Alvaro Gonzalez has denied racially abusing Paris Saint-Germain susperstar Neymar and says the Brazilian should ‘learn how to lose.

The Brazil international was sent off in the final minute of PSG’s 1-0 defeat to Marseille after a VAR review showed him hitting Gonzalez in the back of the head.

Neymar was one of five players to be shown a red card in the final 60 seconds, as Leandro Paredes, Darío Benedetto, Layvin Kurzawa and Jordan Amavi were all sent off for violent conduct following a mass brawl.

However, Neymar was furious with the decision and he was heard telling the fourth official on the touchline that he had been racially abused by Gonzalez.

Neymar subsequently tweeted twice after the game. First to say that he wished he had hit Gonzalez in the face because he’s an ‘a*****e’ and second to claim that the Spaniard called him a ‘monkey motherf****r’.

However, Gonzalez has hit back at the Brazilian by taking a dig at Neymar’s ability to take defeat and he accompanied the comments with a photo of his Marseille team-mates.

‘There is no place for racism, said Gonzalez.

‘Clean race and with many colleagues and friends on a daily basis.

‘Sometimes you have to learn to lose and take it on the field. Incredible 3 points today. Come on Marseille. Thanks family.’

The referee dished out four red cards before a VAR review was conducted to discover if there were any incidents that were not seen at the time,

The official was then advised to send Neymar off after replays showed he hit Gonzalez on the back of the head.

It meant PSG were down to just eight men as a nine-man Marseille claimed their first victory against their arch rivals since 2011.

Thomas Tuchel’s side are pointless two matches into their title defence and currently sit in the relegation zone.
