Markets Open Higher, Sensex Trades Above 39,000 Points

Benchmark indices were trading higher, as global cues were strong, particularly with the Asian markets trading higher and Dow Futures seeing gains of more than 1 per cent.

The Nifty was trading with gains of nearly 86 points, while the Sensex was up 300 points in trade.

Yes Bank was trading higher by 3 per cent after ICRA upgraded the securities issued by the lender following the fund raise and general improvement in the bank's financial profile.

Deepak Fertilizer shares were trading higher, after the company set its rights issue price at Rs 133 per share. Reliance Industries, which has been on a solid ride continue to trend higher on hopes of raising more money through its retail arm. The stock was higher by 0.50 per cent.

Real estate stocks with significant presence in Maharashtra were trading higher after the state government increased the ready reckoner rates. Oberoi Realty, Kolte Patil and Godrej Properties were all higher.

State Bank of India saw its shares gain ground after the bank revised its deposit rates. The shares of the banks were trading higher by 1.5 per cent in early morning trade.

Meanwhile, Asian markets were all trading up led by the Japanese Nikkei, which saw Softbank Group shares soar.
